Overview

Niagara after dark, the full set

Most visitors only ever see the Falls in daylight. This evening tour gives you both worlds: you ride the Maid of the Mist boat and walk the decks of Cave of the Winds while there's still light, then stay on as the sun drops and the Falls light up in a slow wash of colour. It's the most photogenic window of the whole day.

Everything happens inside Niagara Falls State Park on the American side — no border, no passport. Because the boat season is short and these evening departures run on select dates, spots go quickly. On clear nights you may also catch the fireworks over the gorge.

Frequently asked

Do I need a passport?+

No. The whole evening stays on the U.S. side, so there's no border crossing and no passport needed.

What dates does it run?+

Evening departures run on select dates during the Maid of the Mist season (roughly April into early November, with the earliest illumination dates around April–May). Availability is limited, so book ahead.

Are the fireworks guaranteed?+

Fireworks run on a seasonal schedule and only on clear nights, so we can't promise them — but the coloured illumination of the Falls happens every evening, rain or shine.

Will I get wet?+

Yes, on the boat and at Cave of the Winds. Ponchos are provided; waterproof shoes and a light layer for the evening are a good idea.

Can I cancel?+

Yes — cancel at least 96 hours before your start time for a full refund. No-shows and late cancellations can't be refunded.
